About
TEDify is the brain child of Maria Popova, a relentless and voracious TED fan who, after seeing every talk publicly available and then some, arrived at a curious epiphany: TED has a voice. Despite the tremendously diverse speakers covering an incredibly wide range of topics, TED goes far beyond merely conglomerating “ideas worth spreading” and draws the big picture by sketching out all the little pieces that surround it. And it does it with the distinct stroke of an unmistakable artist. But just to be clear, although TED have generously given me permission to use their logo, the content selection and editing are down to me. I’ve assured TED that no speakers words will be used in a way that distorts their intent.
If you are a TED speaker and feel that your views are being in any way misrepresented, please don’t hesitate to contact me immediately.
This is the TED spirit — an entity with incredibly strong opinions, formulated not despite but because of the phenomenal breadth and diversity of viewpoints oozing from the TED stage. Opinions channeled through a range of different voices that together form a unified choir of wisdom, insight and inspiration, inevitably making powerful and succinct points about broader cultural concerns. Points that edify about issues current and relevant, or universal and deeply human, or fundamental to our shared future.
This is TEDify. An effort to capture these common tangents between TED’s incredibly diverse speakers. To connect the dots in order to make the bigger social and cultural points. And, above all, to help the voice of TED echo through ever more inspired minds.
I will be posting new episodes periodically, each TEDifying on a specific issue or a collection of related issues. The first one deals with the relationship between design, sustainability and social change. You can expect new episodes covering everything from architecture as a change agent to the nature of happiness, and all that lies between.
