As someone who really likes TED, but doesn’t have the time to watch ALL the talks, I think this is an awesome way for people like me to get an idea of what the speakers have talked about and if interested to follow the link to their talk. Also, since I like doing some video stuff myself, I think this project could be an exciting creative outlet for all TED lovers and After Effects maniacs
in case you decide to open it up for submissions in the future… Aaaand I absolutely love the “ideas worth connecting” slogan.
Great job!

It’s a wonder the TED people themselves didn’t think of this. What a perfect way to keep the discussion going. Keep it up!

nicce. as someone who does watch (almost) ALL the talks, I still love how they serendipitously fit together here. it’s strangely satisfying to watch :). apart from the obvious benefit of connecting the seemingly disparate ideas (great slogan, btw) it’s also a good way to remember talks that you might like to revisit. i’m definitely following this. hope it gets linked to the website, eventually.
idea: when you pick up momentum over the next months and get more visitors maybe you can allow people to propose what they think are important connections to be made (between themes/talks/people), and then execute the best ones.
looking forward to the next one!

Thanks for the great feedback and ideas. I definitely have bigger plans – or, I should say, hopes – for where this can go long-term. TED has an enormous following of highly creative, idea-oriented people, so I’d love to open up this project for collaboration eventually.

Hi Maria,
thanks for the really awesome TED mashup motion typography. I’ve included it in my blog. Since I work in the area of sustainability, run a presentations blog and am a huge fan of TED,
this video is of interest to me in three different ways :-).
Cheers,
Oliver

Thanks, Brian. I’m trying to – but between grad school applications and my “real” job, these — each episode takes 3 weeks to make — are becoming incredibly difficult to time-slot.
Stay tuned though, I’m working on one about storytelling. My favorite “topic” yet.
